The long awaited, overhauled, improved, and redesigned flagship product from Oracle has released today. Oracle 11g boast a long list of over 500 new features including self-tuning capabilities, automated storage and memory management and intelligent tuning advisors. Additional features like Database and SQL Replay capabilities will make troubleshooting a lot easier with this release.

Furthering its commitment to open standards, Oracle today announced support for the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) XQuery 1.0, a new standard for accessing XML data. Over the years, Oracle has played a key role in the development of XQuery, participating in the W3C XML Query Working Group and introducing Oracle(r) Database 10g Release 2, the first commercial database to support the standard in 2005.
