Oracle Announces General Availability of Oracle Data Integrator

*REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., * *05-FEB-2007 09:40 AM *
Oracle today announced the general availability of Oracle(r) Data Integrator, a high-performing data integration solution that enables organizations to quickly integrate massive volumes of data dispersed across mixed IT environments. Oracle Data Integrator, a new component within the Oracle Fusion Middleware product family, is a key enabler for mission-critical business initiatives, including, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing; Master Data Management; Service-Oriented Architecture and Business Activity Monitoring; and Application Migration and Consolidation.

Oracle Data Integrator provide S heterogeneous data integration capability; high performance using innovative Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) technology; helps increase developer productivity; supports both batch and real time data integration; and enables users to lower the cost of developing and maintaining data integration maps with innovative declarative, set-based modeling tools and pre-packaged code libraries called Knowledge Modules.

Based on technology from the recent Sunopsis acquisition, Oracle Data Integrator delivers integration capabilities that supports a heterogeneous technology environment and is natively optimized for high-performance interoperability with database, data warehouse and packaged applications software from vendors including IBM, Microsoft, Netezza, Sybase, Teradata, Trillium. Oracle Data Integrator also eliminates the need for a separate Extract- Transform-Load (ETL) server by executing the transformation operations within the source system or target Data Warehouse, improving performance, lowering cost, and simplifying administration.

“Customers are demanding real-time access to information culled from disparate data sources across their organization,” said Amlan Debnath, vice president, Oracle Server Technologies. “Oracle Data Integrator provides the means to easily integrate data from a broad spectrum of sources to help organizations with mission-critical business initiatives, such as better insight through real time data analysis.”

Oracle Data Integrator can be used to build Data Warehouses that are accessed by Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition; the newest release of the product represents another major milestone in Oracle’s expanding capabilities to deliver pervasive Business Intelligence. Oracle Data Integrator improves the ease with which ETL Maps can be developed and maintained using declarative design patterns and provides over 100 re-usable code libraries called “Knowledge Modules” that capture highly optimized source and target specific optimizations for major databases and packaged applications.

Additionally, Oracle Data Integrator is optimized to work with Oracle’s own database, application server, SOA Suite and Business Activity Monitoring software. For customers wanting the ability to integrate systems in real time, Oracle Data Integrator provides the flexibility to support both batch and real time data synchronization via change-data-capture technology.
